Pelvic Chair treatment
Pelvic Chair treatment is a painless, non-invasive treatment for incontinence, erectile dysfunction and pelvic floor dysfunction.
It can be relevant for both men and women with stress incontinence, urge incontinence, mixed incontinence or when traditional pelvic floor training is not effective.
A session takes just 30 minutes and is fully clothed.
- Painless and non-invasive - fully clothed
- For women and men - including after prostate surgery
- Results from a few treatments - full course in 3-4 weeks
Facts about Pelvic Chair:
- Treatment: Takes place fully clothed. It is painless and you only feel a tingling or contraction in the pelvic floor.
- Target group: Suitable for both women and men with problems such as urinary or fecal incontinence, lower abdomen, postpartum problems or reduced sex drive.
- Course of action: Typically 6-8 sessions (approx. 30 min) over 3-4 weeks are recommended for optimal effect.
- Benefits: Can replace or supplement squats, increases muscle tone, improves sexual pleasure/erection and can reduce nighttime urination.

Advanced pelvic floor training for incontinence, control and function
Many people live for years with incontinence, leakage or pelvic floor problems without seeking help. Because the topic feels embarrassing. Because they think pelvic floor exercises are the only alternative. Or because you’ve tried them – and they simply didn’t work.
Do you know it?
- A sneeze, a laugh or a trampoline ride causes a small “accident”
- Know there is a toilet nearby before you leave the house
- You are up several times a night
- You experience decreased sexual pleasure or erectile dysfunction
- Squats don’t work – or you can’t feel if you’re doing them right
At MS Insight, the pelvic chair is not used as a standard package. It is assessed as part of an overall clinical strategy where muscle activation, nerve function, timing, tissue quality and symptom picture are considered together.

What is Pelvic Chair treatment?
Pelvic Chair uses HIFEM technology – High Intensity Focused Electromagnetic Stimulation – to deeply and precisely activate the pelvic floor muscles without you having to exert yourself.
You sit down on the chair, fully clothed. Over the course of 30 minutes, the electromagnetic field automatically creates up to 12,000 muscle contractions in the pelvic floor. The contractions are supramaximal – far stronger than what most people can achieve with voluntary exercise or classic pelvic floor exercises.
It affects two levels at once:
- Muscle level: Increased strength, endurance and muscle tone.
- Nervous system: Better signal transmission, timing and automatic response to stress.
Treatment with Pelvic Chair is:
- Painless and non-invasive.
- Takes place fully clothed.
- No recovery time – you go straight back to everyday life.
- Clinically proven efficacy (published on PubMed).
- Relevant for both genders.

Pelvic Chair or squats – what’s the difference?
Squats are still a sensible starting point. They’re free, require no equipment and I recommend them often.
But squats require you to activate the right muscles – correctly, deeply and with sufficient intensity. Many people can’t. And it’s not a question of willpower or discipline. Many people activate the wrong muscles without realizing it and achieve no real effect.
Pelvic Chair bypasses that challenge. It activates the muscles directly via electromagnetic stimulation – without you having to control the contraction. This allows access to deeper muscle layers and more consistent recruitment than most can achieve manually.

Pelvic Chair price: What does the treatment cost?
A Pelvic Chair treatment costs DKK 750 per session. If you combine Pelvic Chair with shockwave, it’s included in the price per treatment – and you get a more complete clinical approach that works with muscle activation, tissue quality and microcirculation.
| Price per treatment | |
|---|---|
| Pelvic Chair (standalone treatment) | 600 DKK |
| Pelvic chair (in connection with shockwave and other treatments) | Included in the price. |
| Free phone assessment (15 min) | 0 kr. |

The real effect is neuromuscular rehabilitation
Pelvic Chair is often described as thousands of squats in a short time. It’s a simple explanation – but also too simple.
The treatment not only activates the muscle, but affects the entire interaction between nerves and muscles. It helps the body activate the pelvic floor more precisely, more deeply and more consistently than most people achieve through self-training. Therefore, the technology should be understood as neuromuscular rehabilitation – not just more repetitions.
The most important effect is the transition from conscious training to automatic function. This is where it really makes a difference: when coughing, sneezing, lifting or sudden movements, the pelvic floor must react quickly and unconsciously – not only after an active decision. This is exactly the transition that many people don’t achieve with pelvic floor exercises alone.
For some, however, muscle activation is only one part of the problem. Tissue quality, blood flow, connective tissue elasticity, nerve function and previous surgery can all influence the effect. If the tissue conditions are not present, training alone may be insufficient – and a more specialized approach with shockwave and EMTT may be relevant.
Pelvic Chair in combination with shockwave and EMTT (especially for men)
At MS Insight, Pelvic Chair can be combined with shockwave therapy and EMTT when it makes clinical sense.
Pelvic Chair works on muscle activation and neuromuscular control. Shockwave addresses tissue quality and microcirculation. EMTT works on a cellular level with deep electromagnetic impact.
Combined correctly, we work not only with the muscle in isolation, but with the entire system: nerve, muscle, tissue and biological environment.
This is particularly relevant for men who experience a combination of erectile dysfunction, incontinence or pelvic pain. And it’s an option that no other clinic in Denmark offers at the same level.

Frequently asked questions about Pelvic Chair treatment
What is Pelvic Chair treatment?
Pelvic Chair activates the pelvic floor muscles directly via electromagnetic stimulation (HIFEM technology). It creates up to 12,000 supramaximal muscle contractions per session – far more powerful than what can be achieved through voluntary exercise. The result is increased muscle strength, better timing and more automatic response to load.
Does Pelvic Chair work for incontinence?
Yes, for the vast majority, where incontinence is caused by a weak or poorly coordinated pelvic floor. The treatment is clinically proven to reduce urinary and fecal incontinence. However, if the incontinence is caused by bladder irritation – for example during menopause – the muscles are not necessarily the primary cause. We clarify this in the telephone assessment.
Is Pelvic Chair an alternative to knee exercises?
For some, it’s an alternative. For others, it works best as a supplement to regular
pelvic floor training.
What is the difference between Pelvic Chair and squats?
Squats require correct activation of the right muscles. Many people unknowingly activate the wrong muscles and achieve limited effect. Pelvic Chair activates muscles directly via electromagnetic stimulation and achieves a deeper, more consistent activation than most people can achieve manually.
Can Pelvic Chair be combined with shockwave and EMTT?
Yes, when tissue quality, blood flow or nerve function also come into play, combining shockwave and EMTT can be relevant.
How quickly do you feel the effect?
The effect is typically gradual and depends on the starting point, symptoms and the overall
treatment strategy.
Does Pelvic Chair work for men - also after prostate surgery?
Yes, you can. Pelvic Chair is suitable for men with incontinence, including incontinence after prostate surgery. The treatment can also help with erectile dysfunction and reduced sexual function.
Does the treatment hurt?
No, it isn’t. The treatment is painless. During the session, you may feel a tingling or contraction in the pelvic floor – just like a muscle tension after other types of exercise. This is not pain.
Are there side effects with Pelvic Chair?
There are no known side effects. The treatment is non-invasive and you can go straight back to your normal activities afterwards.
Who cannot receive Pelvic Chair treatment?
The treatment should not be received if you:
- Pregnant (waiting time: minimum 6-9 months after birth)
- Has a pacemaker
- Have metal implants in or near the treatment area
- Has copper IUD
- Has epilepsy
- Has heart problems under active treatment
- Recently undergone surgery in the treatment area
Before the treatment, please remove: watch/smartwatch, belt with metal buckle and piercings in the treatment area. During the session you are not allowed to use a cell phone, tablet or computer.
