Mens health shockwave workshop in Copenhagen
For practitioners who want to work more professionally with men’s health
June 20-21, 2026 at MS Insight in Copenhagen, Max. 8 participants
This 2-day workshop is designed for practitioners who want a more informed and clinically grounded approach to men’s health.
The workshop is relevant for physiotherapists, chiropractors, nurses, manual therapists, shockwave therapists and clinic owners who work with – or want to work more seriously with erectile dysfunction, Peyronies, pelvic pain, CPPS, incontinence and post-urological rehabilitation.
The goal is not to provide a simple protocol or one-size-fits-all treatment concept. The goal is to strengthen your clinical understanding, your ability to assess complex issues and your ability to use modern technology in a more reflective and responsible way.
A more advanced setup for men’s health
Men’s health is often made too simple. Erectile dysfunction is quickly reduced to blood flow. Peyronies are reduced to plaque. Pelvic pain is reduced to a tense pelvic floor. But in practice, the picture is often more complex.
Behind the symptoms may be an interaction between the circulatory system, nervous system, pelvic floor, connective tissue, pain sensitivity, back and hips, hormonal conditions, medication, lifestyle, stress and sexual confidence.
That’s why this workshop is built around clinical reasoning rather than standard protocols. You’ll gain a more nuanced understanding of how to work with men’s health in practice and how technologies such as shockwave, EMTT and ultrasound can be included in a broader clinical setup when relevant and professionally sound.
Content for men’s health workshop
Erection problems workshop
Erectile dysfunction is rarely just one thing. For some men, it’s primarily about blood flow. For others, it’s more about nervous system, metabolic health, medication, stress, performance pressure or previous surgery.
In the workshop, we’ll explore how erectile dysfunction can be assessed in a more nuanced way before choosing a treatment approach.
- Vascular, neurological and lifestyle factors
- Morning rise as a clinical benchmark
- Stress, performance anxiety and sexual confidence
- Diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol, medication and metabolic risk
- When shockwave and EMTT can be relevant elements
- When further referral should be considered
The focus is on strengthening clinical assessment and avoiding placing all clients in the same treatment model.
Peyronie’s workshop and crooked penis
Peyronies and crooked penis require both professional precision and good communication. Many men come with worry, shame, frustration and often a strong desire for a quick solution.
Therefore, this area is not only about tissue, pain and function. It’s also about being able to explain realistic possibilities and limitations in a safe and professional manner.
- Pain, function and tissue changes
- The difference between active and stable phase
- Realistic expectations alignment
- Shockwave as a possible part of a treatment program
- EMTT, Vacuum pumps and traction devices
- Assistive products and complementary strategies
- Communication around sexuality and body image
The goal is for you to be better equipped to meet this patient group with calm, professionalism and a clear framework.
CPPS, prostatitis and pelvic pain
Men with chronic pelvic pain often have a long history, many examinations and several attempts at treatment behind them. Many feel misunderstood because their symptoms don’t always fit into a single diagnosis.
In the workshop, we work with a broader understanding of pelvic pain in men, where tissue, nervous system, pelvic floor, stress response and pain sensitivity can all play a role.
- The role of the pelvic floor
- Nervous system and pain sensitivity
- Pudendus-related symptoms
- Stress response and autonomic regulation
- Manual assessment and clinical reasoning
- How shockwave and EMTT can be incorporated into selected courses
The focus here is to avoid a too mechanical understanding of pain and instead work with a more comprehensive clinical model.
Incontinence workshop and post-urological rehabilitation
Men after urological procedures may experience incontinence, decreased erections, altered body image and uncertainty about physical and sexual function.
It requires a therapeutic approach where the pelvic floor, nervous system, tissue, function and expectation alignment are considered together.
- Typical issues after prostate surgery
- Stress incontinence and urge issues
- Erectile dysfunction after surgery
- The role of the pelvic floor
- Technology as a possible part of a broader rehabilitation pathway
- Realistic guidance and patient communication
This area is particularly relevant for practitioners who want to work more skillfully with men after urological procedures.
Technology focus for mens health workshop
Fire types of shockwave
A central theme of the workshop is that shockwave is not a single technology. Radial shockwave and focused shockwave have different properties, and the focused technologies also differ from each other in energy, focus, tissue interaction and clinical application.
- Focused electromagnetic shockwave
- Focused electrohydraulic shockwave
- Focused piezoelectric shockwave
- Radiating pressure wave
The aim is not to present one technology as the only right one. The aim is to provide a more nuanced understanding of differences, opportunities and limitations so that technology choices can be better linked to the specific clinical problem.
EMTT workshop
EMTT – Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy – is introduced as a complementary technology in a modern Mens Health setup.
In the workshop, we will review how EMTT can be considered in selected clinical contexts where you want to work more broadly with pain, tissue, function and nervous system.
The focus is on professional assessment rather than technological overselling. You will gain an understanding of how EMTT can be combined with shockwave in certain procedures and what clinical considerations should be made.
Ultrasound introduction
Ultrasound is presented as a clinical understanding tool. It’s not about all participants necessarily using ultrasound in their own clinic. It’s about understanding how imaging thinking can contribute to better assessment, documentation and communication with the client.
We look at how ultrasound can be used to understand selected issues in men’s health, including tissue changes, anatomical conditions and clinical documentation.
Workshop format for men’s health
The workshop combines technical review, demonstration, case work and practical discussion.
There will be room for questions and dialog as the number of participants is limited to a maximum of 8 people.
This makes the workshop more relevant, more practical and easier to connect to your own clinical practice.
- Clinical cases
- Technology comparison
- Hands-on demonstration
- Treatment strategies
- Communication and aligning expectations
- Implementation in your own clinic
Educator
The workshop is hosted by Michael Strøm at MS Insight in Copenhagen, and is independent of shockwave manufacturers in its teaching style.
