Results that are measured—not just reported

Clinical outcomes should be evaluated based on more than just individual testimonials. That’s why I measure improvements in erectile function using the IIEF-5 questionnaire and track progress over time—both in the overall case review and in individual treatment courses.

How to Read the Case Studies

Each case is structured the same way, so you can compare the different scenarios:

01

Starting Level

Erectile function prior to the first treatment.

02

Number of treatments

How many sessions the course of treatment included.

03

Changes Over Time

Measurements taken after 4 weeks, 12 weeks, 6 months, and 12 months.

04

Best result

The highest documented score in the course.

The scale

IIEF-5: 0–25 points

Higher numbers indicate better erectile function. 25 points corresponds to full erectile function. The score is typically broken down as follows:

5–7

Severe

8–11

Moderate

12–16

Mild–moderate

17–21

Mild

22–25

Normal

The score is self-reported and is one of the most widely used measures of erectile function in both research and clinical practice.

Honest Alignment of Expectations

What the cases show—and what they don’t show

The case studies present five individual treatment courses in which erectile function was measured before, during, and after treatment. They also show that treatment courses vary: Some improve quickly, others gradually—and scores may fluctuate along the way.

Case studies are not a guarantee that others will achieve the same results. Results should be evaluated in conjunction with the indication, baseline, treatment course, and follow-up.

That’s why a treatment course at MS Insight begins with a thorough assessment of what appears to be driving the problem—before we decide whether shockwave therapy is the right next step.
