Incontinence treatment with shockwave

Incontinence treatment with shockwave
Living with incontinence can feel limiting and affect your daily life and confidence. But imagine a life where you have full control and freedom again. I, Michael will help you regain that control and improve your quality of life.
By combining advanced techniques such as EMTT (Extracorporeal Magneto Transduction Therapy) and Shockwave Therapy with specific pelvic floor exercises, I offer a holistic treatment that addresses the root of the problem. This is whether it’s stress, urge or neurological incontinence. Treating the neural pathways and pelvic floor muscles is a key component of this approach as it stimulates the muscles and nerve signals that are crucial for bladder control. With the support of ultrasound scanning, I ensure that each treatment and the relevant exercises are precisely tailored to your needs.
I offer a treatment solution that is not seen anywhere else in Denmark. A course usually consists of 4-8 treatments. Using shockwave and EMTT, we have an opportunity to stimulate the biological processes, rebuild and reactivate the cells. It will also stimulate nerve activity and increase control over the muscles so that you regain full control. I have achieved international recognition and am known for my in-depth knowledge. As a result, I treat clients of all ages from all over the Nordic region on a daily basis, and every patient is treated with care and respect. That’s why you can feel safe.

Incontinence treatment without taboo or surgery for men and women
When you first visit us, we will have a thorough and in-depth conversation and examination to find the cause of your incontinence. We will review your lifestyle and go through any medications and other things in your everyday life that may affect your urinary control. We do a body composition measurement to give you an insight into the state of your body’s health and finally, we perform a series of detailed ultrasound scans of the pelvic floor. The scans form the basis for you to get clarity on the possibility of the most optimal treatment and possible measures in relation to the training of your pelvic floor.
Although incontinence is often perceived as taboo or difficult to talk about, this is not the case in the clinic. Here you are completely safe, and you will be met in a relaxed atmosphere when you come to me for your first examination and treatment. Nothing is wrong or embarrassing here.
I offer you a groundbreaking and painless combination of EMTT and shockwave therapy where you regain control over your urination. And in October 2023, I presented the results at a major shockwave therapy conference in London. And the best part is that it has no side effects and surgery and pills are not the only solution to regain full control.
In addition to specializing in shockwave therapy, I am also a certified sexologist. Outside the clinic, I train other therapists and specialists for the shockwave and EMTT manufacturer Storz Medical worldwide.

How do shockwave and EMTT work for Incontinence treatment?
I offer you an effective treatment for Incontinence with shockwave & EMTT without side effects. You will regain a higher quality of life through greater control over your urination and higher self-confidence that you previously had after treatment.
Using shockwave and EMTT, we stimulate the release of various growth factors in the bladder system, pelvic floor nerves, muscles and blood vessels. All processes and tissues that give you greater control over your urination. All without the unpleasant side effects that can occur with certain types of medication or surgery.
A standard course of treatment consists of 4-8 treatments. The number is based on the severity of your incontinence and how long it has been going on.
The clinic is the only one in Denmark to offer this innovative combination treatment, where both muscles and nervous system are stimulated in combination with traditional training.
What is stress incontinence?
Stress incontinence: Imagine this: You laugh out loud at a funny joke, or you sneeze unexpectedly, or you lift a shopping bag and you suddenly feel a small leak. This is stress incontinence. It happens when the pelvic floor muscles and the sphincter muscles in the urethra weaken. When there is sudden pressure from activities like coughing, laughing or exercising, these weakened muscles cannot hold back urine, leading to leakage. It’s important to retrain the muscles and stimulate the nervous system for more control.
Possible Causes:
- Childbirth: Vaginal delivery can weaken the muscles needed for bladder control and damage the bladder nerves.
- Prostate surgery in men.
- Age: As you get older, muscles can weaken.
- Obesity: Extra weight increases pressure on the bladder and surrounding muscles.
What is urge incontinence?
Urge incontinence: Have you ever felt a sudden, overwhelming urge to use the toilet and found that you couldn’t make it in time? That’s urge incontinence, sometimes called “overactive bladder.” It’s as if your bladder is sending a super-urgent message to “Go now!” even when it’s not full. Here we work with increased control over the muscles, but just as importantly the nervous system, which needs to be calm and balanced. This is where EMTT makes a big difference.
Possible Causes:
- Bladder infections: This can irritate the bladder, causing strong cravings.
- Neurologiske lidelser: Tilstande som slagtilfælde eller Parkinsons sygdom kan forstyrre signalerne mellem hjernen og blæren.
- Diabetes: High blood sugar levels can cause frequent urination and increase the risk of urge incontinence.
What is neurological/neurogenic incontinence?
Neurogenic Incontinence: The brain, spinal cord and nervous system in our body work together to control the bladder. However, if there is a disruption in this system due to conditions such as spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis or other nerve-related disorders, it leads to neurogenic incontinence. This can manifest as unexpected leaks or not being able to empty the bladder completely. Here we work to regain control of the nervous system and signals.
Possible Causes:
- Spinal cord damage: Damage to the spinal cord can disrupt nerve signals responsible for bladder control.
- Diseases such as multiple sclerosis or Parkinson’s: These can affect the nerves that regulate bladder function.
- Birth defects: Conditions like spina bifida, where the spinal cord doesn’t form correctly, can cause this type of incontinence.
What is the cost of incontinence treatment?
A single treatment with Shockwave in combination with EMTT costs DKK 1,500. We were the first in Denmark to work with the combination of Shockwave and EMTT in a Dutch setup where we see a higher effect due to an increased stimulation of the entire nervous system and more muscles in the pelvic floor than shockwave alone.
The treatment is personal, discreet and in a locked room. The first consultation costs from 1,700-2,400 Danish kroner.
How is male incontinence treated?
The treatment of incontinence with focused shockwave and EMTT involves treating the perineum (bladder & prostate) with shockwave. The sound waves stimulate the nerves, muscles and blood vessels of the perineum, giving you increased control over your pelvic floor. A “side effect” can also be more erection hardness. The shockwave treatment itself lasts about 15-20 minutes, based on the research-based protocols and the latest equipment available at the clinic. We then stimulate the entire area and nervous system with EMTT to increase the release of growth factors that stimulate the regeneration of the entire bladder system.
The treatment is painless for you and is not comparable to what you would experience if you had it in a shoulder, for example. You will only feel a slight tingling sensation. Of course, you are welcome to bring your partner to the treatment if it makes you feel more comfortable.
There are no risks and no known side effects from the treatment. However, in the hours or days following the treatment, you may feel “work” in the area. You will also be able to have sexual activity as usual throughout the treatment.
How is female incontinence treated?
The treatment of incontinence with focused shockwave and EMTT involves treating the bladder and pelvic floor muscles. The sound waves stimulate the pelvic floor nerves, muscles and blood vessels, giving you increased control over your pelvic floor. The treatment itself lasts about 15-20 minutes, based on the research-based protocols and the latest equipment available at the clinic. We then stimulate the entire area and nervous system with EMTT to increase the release of growth factors that stimulate the regeneration of the entire bladder system. So you regain control over urination and don’t have to know the location of every toilet on your way.

The treatment with shockwave and EMTT. There are good studies showing that EMTT and shockwave can help with incontinence in women (referred to as PEMF). In addition, I have presented a breakthrough in the field in London in October 2023

Ultrasound in the treatment of incontinence, why?
We always perform a thorough ultrasound scan of the pelvic floor during the first treatment. We do this to ensure that the pelvic floor muscles are under control. This way, we can help you initiate the necessary and correct training of the pelvic floor.
We also measure the ability to empty the bladder and measure the thickness of the bladder wall.
It also helps to ensure that we hit the precise structures when performing the treatment, as we can adjust the depth of the sound waves. We have the latest and most advanced scanning equipment in the clinic, with probes that target superficial structures and vessels.

Why use body analysis for incontinence?
To give you even more insight into your health and see if there are any risk factors to your overall health, an advanced analysis is offered at the first treatment with an InBody770.
The InBody 770 is an advanced body analysis machine used to measure body composition, muscle mass, fat percentage and much more. This machine is able to provide accurate and detailed measurements, making it suitable for analysis to complement treatment. It can provide increased qualification on what response can be expected to shockwave treatment in relation to the body’s state of health.
It can also help track progress in training and dietary changes. That’s why I also offer to have new measurements taken in connection with any booster treatments after the initial course. Then you can see what effect your lifestyle changes have and how it affects your continence.
